What Changed Recently?

Payments went out. After the claims window closed on April 7, 2026, the Settlement Administrator reviewed every claim, the court held its final approval hearing on May 7, 2026, and the Final Judgment of Dismissal and Order Granting Final Approval of Class Action Settlement is now posted on the settlement website. The website then reported that payments for approved claims were issued on July 31, 2026, with checks voiding after November 28, 2026.

The settlement resolves consolidated lawsuits filed after a data incident at Southeast Series of Lockton Companies, LLC, a unit of the Kansas City-based insurance broker. According to the notification letters Lockton sent in March 2025, an unauthorized party accessed a single individual account and computer within the Lockton environment and obtained certain files on November 20, 2024. The plaintiffs allege the files included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth and, for some people, financial, health and medical information. The incident was first reported to federal health regulators as affecting 1,706 people and later revised to 1,124,727. Lockton denies wrongdoing, and the settlement is not an admission of liability.

Who Qualified?

The Settlement Class is all persons residing in the United States who were notified of the Lockton data incident. Class membership came from the notification letters, so a person who never received one was not part of this settlement.

What Did the Settlement Offer?

Lockton agreed to pay up to $9.9 million, split into two pools. Class members who filed a valid claim could choose:

• Cash Payment A — Documented Losses: reimbursement of up to $5,000 per person for unreimbursed losses fairly traceable to the incident, paid from a $3 million pool. Covered losses included fraud or identity theft losses, professional fees for attorneys, accountants or credit repair, credit freeze costs, credit monitoring bought after the incident, and smaller expenses such as postage, copying and mileage.
• Cash Payment B — Pro Rata Cash: an equal share of what remained in the $5.9 million common fund after the cost of monitoring, settlement administration, service awards and court-approved attorneys' fees and costs were paid. No documentation was required.

Separately, every class member was entitled to one year of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, a financial data monitoring service with credit monitoring at one bureau, dark web and account monitoring, and $1 million in identity theft insurance. The settlement website has not published the final per-person amount of the pro rata payment.

What Should You Do Now?

If you filed a claim and received a check, cash or deposit it before November 28, 2026. After that date it is void.

If you filed a claim and have not received anything, contact the Settlement Administrator, Kroll Settlement Administration, through the official Lockton Data Settlement website. Do it soon: the check void date is also the practical deadline to sort out a lost check, a wrong address or a rejected claim. Have the name and mailing address you used on the claim form ready.

If you did not file by April 7, 2026, there is no way to claim cash now. You remain bound by the settlement's release. If you received a Lockton breach letter, it also offered 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring, separate from this settlement.
