What Is This Settlement About?

Edloe Finch LLC, which does business as Albany Park, has agreed to a class action settlement valued at approximately $14,993,930 to resolve claims that it misleadingly advertised discounts on its website, AlbanyPark.com. The lawsuit alleges that Albany Park advertised various discounts on its merchandise — including the size of the discount — in a way that the plaintiff claims was deceptive.

The complaint alleges violations of the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act, the California False Advertising Law, and the California Unfair Competition Law, along with common law fraud and unjust enrichment. Albany Park denies all of the claims and denies any liability or wrongdoing, and no court has decided who is right. The two sides agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of a trial. If you purchased from AlbanyPark.com during the class period, you are entitled to a $115 benefit — automatically as store credit, or as cash if you file a claim.

Who Qualifies?

The settlement class is defined as all persons nationwide who purchased one or more items from AlbanyPark.com during the class period. The class period runs from June 21, 2020 through October 31, 2024.

As in most settlements, certain people are excluded — anyone who validly and timely opts out, counsel of record for the parties, Albany Park (Edloe Finch LLC) along with its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers, and their officers and directors, and the judge presiding over the case together with the judge's immediate family and court staff. Defendant estimates there are about 130,382 settlement class members.

How Much Can You Get?

Every settlement class member is entitled to a $115 benefit. You receive it one of two ways:

Store Credit (automatic). By default — if you do nothing — you receive a $115 voucher for store credit that can be applied toward any future purchase on AlbanyPark.com. The credit is valid for 18 months after activation, is freely transferable, has no blackout dates, and can be combined with any other discount or offer on AlbanyPark.com, though only one credit can be used per transaction and the credit is one-time use.

Cash (by claim). Instead of the store credit, you can elect to receive $115 in cash, issued electronically or by check. To get the cash you must submit a valid claim form by August 18, 2026 and provide enough information for the administrator to verify a qualifying AlbanyPark.com purchase during the class period. If you do not submit a completed claim form, you receive the store credit by default.

Any settlement checks expire 180 calendar days after they are issued. Under California law, funds from checks left uncashed after 180 days are turned over to the State of California as unclaimed property. Separately, Albany Park agreed to pay notice and administration costs, a $5,000 service award to the class representative, and attorneys' fees and expenses of up to $1,500,000, all subject to court approval. These amounts are paid on top of the class benefits and do not reduce the $115 you receive.

Store Credit or Cash — Which Should You Pick?

If you shop at Albany Park anyway, the automatic $115 store credit takes no effort and can stack with other offers. If you would rather have money you can use anywhere, elect the $115 cash — but remember that the cash option is the only one that requires you to file a claim by the August 18, 2026 deadline. Miss that deadline and you default to the store credit.

How to File for the Cash Payment

You only need to file if you want the cash. To elect the $115 cash payment, submit a claim form online at the official settlement website, ChiechiClassActionSettlement.com, or by mail, postmarked no later than August 18, 2026. To log in to the online claim portal you will need the CPT ID and Passcode printed on the notice that was mailed or emailed to you.

If you cannot find your CPT ID or Passcode, use the contact form on the official settlement website to reach the administrator rather than filing blind. If you do nothing, you will automatically receive the $115 store credit after the settlement is finally approved.

What Proof Do I Need?

No proof or claim is required for the $115 store credit — it is issued automatically to class members. To elect the $115 cash instead, filing the online claim requires the CPT ID and Passcode from your notice, and the administrator must be able to verify that you made a qualifying AlbanyPark.com purchase during the class period. Because the cash election is gated on that administrator-issued identifier, this page treats the settlement as proof-required for the cash option. You do not need receipts to receive the automatic store credit.

What Are You Giving Up?

Unless you exclude yourself, you remain in the settlement class and are bound by its release of claims. That means that if the settlement is approved, you cannot sue or continue to sue Albany Park (or its affiliates and others described in the settlement agreement) over the pricing, advertising, marketing, or sale practices at issue in this case. If you want to keep the right to sue on your own, you must exclude yourself by August 18, 2026 — but then you receive no settlement benefit.

Related Deceptive-Pricing Settlements

The same false-reference-pricing theory — advertising a "discount" from a higher price the item allegedly rarely sold at — has been raised against many retailers. If you are tracking these cases, see the Shein fake-discount pricing lawsuit, which is still at the complaint stage, and the closely comparable La-Z-Boy / Joybird deceptive pricing settlement, which also offered $115 in cash or store credit.
