What Is the Call-On-Doc Pixel Settlement About?

Call-On-Doc, Inc., the telehealth platform behind CallOnDoc.com, has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that it used third-party tracking technologies — known as tracking pixels — on its web pages in a way that violated certain California laws, including the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA). Tracking pixels are small snippets of code that websites embed to record visitor activity and send that data to third parties such as advertising and analytics companies. The lawsuit claims this happened without users' consent; Call-On-Doc denies that it did anything wrong, and the court has not decided who is right.

The lawsuit is captioned Lucas v. Call-On-Doc, Inc., Case No. 2026LA000403, and is pending in the Circuit Court of Will County, Illinois. Under the settlement, eligible California users can submit a claim for a cash payment of up to $20. The claim deadline is August 29, 2026.

Who Qualifies for the Call-On-Doc Settlement?

You are a Class Member if either of the following applies, running through the date of Final Judgment:

Excluded from the class are the judge in the case and the judge's family and staff, Call-On-Doc and its officers, directors, and related companies, and anyone who validly opts out of the settlement. Call-On-Doc's records identify the Class Members, and the Settlement Administrator sent email notices with a LoginID and PIN to people on that list. If you received a notice, you are on the eligibility list. If you believe you qualify but cannot find a notice, you can request your LoginID and PIN through the official settlement website.

How Much Can You Get?

All Class Members are eligible to submit a claim for a cash payment of up to $20.00. The notice does not break the payment into tiers — every valid claim is eligible for the same benefit, and the final amount can depend on court approval and the settlement's terms.

Claims filed online can be paid by PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle. Claims submitted by mail are paid by check sent to the address on the claim form. Separately from the class payments, Class Counsel will ask the court to approve up to $600,000 in attorneys' fees and up to $25,000 in litigation costs, plus a $5,000 incentive award for the class representative — all paid by Call-On-Doc.

How to File a Call-On-Doc Claim

There are two ways to file, both with the same August 29, 2026 deadline:

If you cannot locate your LoginID and PIN, the settlement website explains how to request them from the Settlement Administrator by providing your full name and mailing address.

Key Deadlines

If the court grants final approval and no appeals are filed, settlement payments will be distributed after the settlement becomes final. Appeals, if any are filed, can delay payment. If you do nothing, you will not receive a payment, and unless you opt out you will give up the right to sue Call-On-Doc over the claims this settlement resolves.

Tracking Pixels and Health Privacy Lawsuits

The Call-On-Doc case is part of a wave of class actions over tracking pixels on healthcare and telehealth websites. Plaintiffs in these cases typically allege that pixels from advertising and analytics companies captured information about patients' visits — pages viewed, appointment bookings, and sometimes form entries — and transmitted it to third parties without consent, in violation of wiretap-style statutes like CIPA. Similar settlements on OCA include the Thriveworks patient portal privacy settlement and the WISP / hellowisp.com Meta Pixel settlement. Defendants in these cases, including Call-On-Doc here, deny wrongdoing, and courts have not ruled that the conduct violated any law.
