Who Qualifies?
The class is everyone who, from January 1, 2023 through July 26, 2025, applied for a Crew Member or Lead job opening in Washington with Sizzling Platter where the posting did not disclose the wage scale or salary range or a general description of the benefits and other compensation offered. The company's records identify class members, and it estimates there are about 987 of them. You did not have to be hired.If you believe you applied during the class period but were left off the class list, the settlement agreement gives you 60 days from the notice mailing to raise it with the administrator, and the company's records control unless you can show documents proving you belong.
How Much Can You Get?
Every claimant receives an equal share of the net settlement fund. The notice estimates that share at $613.71, and it can be higher. Here is why:Sizzling Platter pays a floor of $634,472.50 as long as no more than about half the class (493 people) files. Out of that come attorneys' fees of up to $281,295, costs of up to $15,000, service awards of $10,000 to each of the two named plaintiffs, and administration costs capped at $15,000. The remainder is divided among claimants, up to $5,000 each; anything beyond that cap goes to the Legal Foundation of Washington. So if fewer people file, each claimant's share rises. For every claimant beyond 493, the company adds $613.71 to the fund, up to a ceiling of $937,650 — which keeps each share at roughly the estimated amount even if most of the class files. These are estimates; the final figure depends on the number of valid claims and on what the court awards in fees and costs.
Payments are treated as non-wage damages and reported on a Form 1099. If the administrator's actual costs come in under $15,000, the difference is added to claimants' payments.
