After years of litigation and two rounds of appeals, the $115 million Oracle privacy settlement is finally moving to payments — but only for people who filed a claim back in 2024.

What Happened?

The official settlement website for Katz-Lacabe et al v. Oracle America, Inc. (Case No. 3:22-cv-04792-RS, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California) reports that the appeals process was fully resolved on June 22, 2026. That resolution triggered the settlement's Effective Date.

As a result, the Settlement Administrator has scheduled distribution: payments will begin to be sent out on September 21, 2026, and should be completed by December 7, 2026. The case had received final approval from Judge Richard Seeborg on November 15, 2024, but distribution was paused while appeals worked through the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Who Gets Paid

Only Settlement Class Members who submitted a valid Claim Form by the October 17, 2024 deadline will receive a payment. The class was defined broadly as natural persons residing in the United States whose personal information, or data derived from it, was acquired, captured, or otherwise collected by Oracle Advertising technologies — or made available for use or sale through ID Graph, Data Marketplace, or any other Oracle Advertising product or service — from August 19, 2018 to the date of final judgment.

The lawsuit alleged that Oracle improperly captured, compiled, and sold individuals' online and offline data to third parties without consent. Oracle denied all the allegations and any wrongdoing, and maintained that its practices were lawful and disclosed; the settlement resolves the claims without any admission of liability.

How Much Will Payments Be?

Payments are pro rata. The $115 million fund is divided among valid claimants after deducting settlement-administration costs, court-approved attorneys' fees and expenses, and service awards for the two Class Representatives, so the final per-person amount depends on how many valid claims were submitted.

If you filed a claim, there is nothing more you need to do to receive a payment, but it is worth making sure your mailing and payment details are current with the Settlement Administrator so your payment is not delayed or returned. You can check the status on the official settlement website.
