Casely Inc., of Brooklyn, New York, has reannounced a recall of about 429,200 Casely Power Pod 5000mAh wireless power banks (Model E33A) sold in the United States. The lithium-ion battery inside the power bank can overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards. The recall is being conducted with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and consumers are urged to stop using the recalled power banks immediately.
The recalled MagSafe-style power banks can be identified by the model number E33A printed on the back of the device and the word "Casely" engraved on the front. They were sold at getcasely.com, Amazon.com, and other e-commerce websites for between $30 and $70 from March 2022 through September 2024.
Casely first recalled the Power Pod (E33A) in April 2025 after receiving 51 reports of the lithium-ion battery overheating, swelling, or igniting. After that recall, Casely received 28 additional reports of the battery overheating, expanding, or catching fire — including two incidents that resulted in one fatality and one serious incident on an airplane. The CPSC and Casely reannounced the recall on April 16, 2026 to reach owners who had not yet responded and to pull the remaining units out of circulation.
Eligible owners can choose one of two remedies:
• A free UL-certified replacement power bank, or
• A $60 Casely gift card
The remedy is requested through Casely's official recall page.
No receipt is required, but two photos are required to confirm eligibility. Through Casely's recall form you must upload:
• One photo of the front of the Power Pod with the word "Recalled" and the date written on it in permanent marker
• One photo showing the model number E33A on the back of the device
The CPSC warns that lithium-ion power banks should not be thrown in household trash or placed in standard recycling bins because of the fire risk. Stop using the recalled Power Pod immediately, contact your local hazardous waste facility for proper disposal guidance, and follow any instructions on Casely's recall page after you submit your remedy request.
