DuraTrac, of Anaheim, California, is recalling about 196,800 stainless steel gas connectors. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall (number 26-343) on March 26, 2026. The flexible connectors are used to supply gas to household appliances such as stoves, ovens, ranges, and dryers, and were sold at Ace Hardware, Blake's Inc., and Merritt's Hardware stores nationwide from May 2025 through November 2025 for about $20.
The recalled connectors have a yellow product label printed with the brand name "DuraTrac" and "Made in Thailand." The flare nuts are engraved with CSA file number 259973 and one of the following date codes: 24D, 25A, 25B, or 25C. Consumers can check those markings to confirm whether a connector is part of the recall.
According to the CPSC, the recalled DuraTrac connectors contain a manufacturing defect that can cause a gas leak. Because the connectors carry flammable gas to appliances, escaping gas can ignite, posing a fire hazard to consumers in the home.
No incidents or injuries had been reported at the time of the recall. Even so, the CPSC advises consumers to stop using a recalled connector immediately rather than waiting until they are ready to request the refund.
You are affected if you bought a DuraTrac stainless steel gas connector at Ace Hardware, Blake's Inc., or Merritt's Hardware between May 2025 and November 2025. Look for the yellow "DuraTrac" label marked "Made in Thailand," and check the flare nut for CSA file number 259973 and a date code of 24D, 25A, 25B, or 25C to confirm whether your connector is included.
Because a recalled connector may already be installed behind a stove, range, or dryer, it is safest to have the connector inspected and replaced by a qualified appliance installer or plumber rather than disturbing a live gas line yourself. Stop using the affected appliance until the connector has been replaced.
The remedy for this recall is a full refund. Stop using the recalled connector, then contact DuraTrac through the official DuraTrac product recalls page to start the refund process. No receipt is required, but you will need the connector's identifying details — the CSA file number and the date code engraved on the flare nut — so DuraTrac can confirm the connector is part of the recall.
The official recall page is the place to find the current refund instructions and to reach DuraTrac's customer service about a recalled connector. Because the defect creates a gas-leak fire risk, do not keep using the connector while the refund is processed.
