What Is Being Recalled?

Therabody, Inc. is recalling the battery charging stand for the Theragun G4PRO percussive massager, sold in the United States and Canada starting in May 2020. Therabody says the charger can overheat while charging the massager’s removable battery pack, presenting the risk of a thermal event. The FDA classifies it as a Class II medical device recall, number Z-2835-2026, covering 584,224 chargers, and Health Canada posted its own recall notice on August 20, 2026.

The recall covers only the charger. Therabody says owners can keep the G4PRO massager and its battery pack, and can keep using the massager with another charging method, such as a wireless charger. Owners who register on Therabody’s recall site can choose a free replacement charger or up to $100 in credit toward a purchase on Therabody.com ($140 in Canada).

Therabody says it could not tie the problem to a particular production batch, so the recall covers every G4PRO charger rather than specific lots. It says it has since redesigned the charger with added protections against overheating.

What Therabody Tells Owners to Do

According to Therabody’s recall site, owners of an affected charger should: Therabody also asks owners not to throw the charger away until they have registered and received instructions. Registration asks whether the person is a consumer or a business and then for the charger’s serial number. Therabody says a confirmation email follows once a request is processed. Its FAQ says chargers bought through third-party sites such as eBay qualify, and that owners whose G4PRO is still under warranty keep their warranty rights.

How the Recall Unfolded

The FDA’s recall entry says Therabody began the recall on June 23, 2026 by sending a stop-sale notice to distributors, retailers and resellers in the United States and Canada, telling them to pull the charger from shelves and online listings. The FDA posted the recall on July 31, 2026, and listed the cause as under investigation by the company at that time. Health Canada’s notice followed on August 20, 2026, and told owners to stop using the charger and contact Therabody for a replacement charger or a credit code.

According to the FDA entry, Therabody received reports alleging the charger caught fire, as well as reports of visible smoke, melting, charger burn, a burning odor and overheating. Therabody’s recall FAQ says no injuries have been reported to the company.
