What's This Settlement About?

A $2,000,000 Class Action Settlement has been reached with Pets Global, alleging that some of their products, which were labeled as “grain free” or “chicken free,” were actually determined through third party testing to contain grain and chicken. Thus, the class action lawsuit against Pets Global alleged that they had falsely advertised some of their pet food products.

How Do I Qualify?

You may be eligible for reimbursement if you reside in the United States and purchased certain "Zignature" pet food Products marketed or labeled as “Grain Free” or “Chicken Free” for personal, family or household use, and not for resale.

The date of purchase must have been from June 2, 2017 through June 24, 2022 (the “Class Period”). A complete list of qualified and affected Products is available HERE, or see the lists of class action products that qualify in the image below:

What Can I Get?

Class Members who timely submit a valid approved claim are entitled to receive Settlement compensation outlined as follows:

• Without Proof of Purchase:
Without Proof of Purchase: Settlement Class Members who do not provide Proof of Purchase may be entitled to recover a maximum total Settlement Benefit of five dollars ($5.00) for purchases of a Product made from June 2, 2017 through June 24, 2022.

• With Proof of Purchase:
Consumers with Proof of Purchase may be entitled to recover up to ten dollars ($10.00) for each purchase of a Product made from June 2, 2017 through June 24, 2022. There is a maximum of 10 claims, or one hundred dollars ($100.00 per household).

Only one Claim Form may be submitted per household, which is all persons residing at the same physical address. Your claim must be submitted by December 21, 2022.

What Counts as Proof of Purchase?

Please note that a valid Proof of Purchase means receipts, copies of receipts, or other documentation that reasonably establishes the fact and date of the purchase of the relevant pet foods Product during the Class Period in the United States or its territories.

How Do I File a Claim?

To receive a payment under this class action settlement you must submit claim form online (see link below) or postmark a physical claim form by December 21, 2022 to the address listed on the official settlement website.

The Court will hold a Final Approval Hearing on November 21, 2022 at the Ronald Reagan Federal Building and Courthouse, 411 West Fourth Street, Courtroom 9B, Santa Ana, CA, 92701-4516.
