What Changed Recently?
The settlement cleared its last step in the trial court. The Oregon court record for Chahal et al. v. Cozy Earth Holdings, Inc., Case No. 26CV07895, shows preliminary approval entered April 21, 2026, a final approval hearing on August 3, 2026, and an Order on Plaintiff’s Motion for Final Approval and a General Judgment both entered August 18, 2026, after which the case was closed. The court record showed no distribution entries as of September 25, 2026.The lawsuit claims that Cozy Earth Holdings, Inc. deceptively advertised discounts on products sold through its website, cozyearth.com, in violation of consumer protection laws. Cozy Earth denies all of the allegations, any wrongdoing and any liability, and no court has found that it did anything wrong. According to the notice, it agreed to settle to avoid the cost and burden of litigation.
The same reference-pricing theory has been tested against other online sellers. The Displate discount advertising settlement resolved a similar claim, and the Leesa, Helix, Bear and Brooklyn Bedding mattress discount settlement uses the same store-credit-or-cash structure.
Who Qualifies?
The Settlement Class has two parts:- Anyone who, while in California, bought one or more products using a discount advertised on cozyearth.com between June 16, 2021 and October 30, 2025.
- Anyone who, while in Oregon, bought one or more products using a discount advertised on cozyearth.com between June 24, 2023 and November 2, 2025.
Shoppers who never received an advertised discount, and paid list price for everything they bought, are not in the class. People who opted out by the June 22, 2026 deadline are also excluded, along with the usual carve-outs for Cozy Earth and its affiliates, counsel, the judge and court staff, and anyone who already signed a release with Cozy Earth over the same advertising.
How Much Do Class Members Get?
Each Class Member receives one $35 award, in one of two forms:- A $35 Credit Voucher — store credit sent by email, with no claim form. This is what everyone who did not choose cash gets.
- $35 cash — paid by check or electronic payment, only for Class Members who submitted a valid Claim Form by July 20, 2026.
The award is a flat $35 per Class Member, not per order, and it is not reduced by the lawyers’ fees. The notice says Cozy Earth pays the attorneys’ fees, any service awards and the notice and administration costs (estimated at $45,000) separately from the $35 awards.
According to the notice, the Credit Voucher can be used on any product on cozyearth.com, can be stacked with other discounts and promotions, has no blackout dates and stays valid for two years after it is distributed. If an order comes to less than $35, including any taxes, the leftover balance can be requested through Cozy Earth customer service.
What Proof Was Required?
None for the store credit, which arrives automatically. For the cash option, the notice required a signed Claim Form in which the Class Member attested, under penalty of perjury, to buying items with an advertised cozyearth.com discount while in California or Oregon during the class period. The notice did not call for receipts or order records.What Was the Deadline?
Claim Forms for the cash option had to be submitted online or postmarked by July 20, 2026. Exclusion requests and objections were due June 22, 2026. The notice gives dates only, with no cutoff time. All of these deadlines have passed.What Should Class Members Do Now?
Mostly, wait and watch the inbox. The Credit Voucher is delivered only by email, so check the inbox, spam and promotions folders of the email address used for cozyearth.com orders for a message from the settlement administrator or Cozy Earth once distribution begins. The notice asked Class Members who were notified by mail to give the administrator an email address by July 20, 2026; anyone unsure whether the administrator has a working address, or who has changed emails, should reach out through the contact page on the official settlement website, Product Discount Settlement.Claimants who chose cash will receive $35 by check or electronic payment instead of the voucher. What Happens Next?
The next step is the Effective Date. Under the settlement agreement, the $35 cash payments and Credit Vouchers go out within 30 days after the Effective Date. That date generally follows the end of the period to appeal the August 18, 2026 judgment, or the resolution of any appeal that is filed, so the exact timing depends on whether anyone appeals.No calendar distribution date had been published as of September 25, 2026. One point of possible confusion: an earlier, separate Cozy Earth discount case, Luby v. Cozy Earth Holdings, Inc. (C.D. Cal. No. 8:24-cv-02725, removed from Orange County Superior Court), was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice on May 15, 2025. It is not part of this settlement.

No. Luby v. Cozy Earth Holdings, Inc. was a separate case that was removed from Orange County Superior Court to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California (No. 8:24-cv-02725). The plaintiff voluntarily dismissed it with prejudice on May 15, 2025. The settlement paying $35 awards is Chahal et al. v.
