Have you ever bought Petsafe e-collars for your pet? You may be part of a new $1.9 million class action settlement reached with Radio Systems Corporation over allegations that its PetSafe e-collar products were marketed without adequately disclosing safety information. The settlement benefits California consumers who purchased certain PetSafe e-collar, fence, or barrier products between October 1, 2018 and October 31, 2022.

Radio Systems denies wrongdoing. The Court has not decided who is right. Payments will be made if the Court grants final approval.

What are PetSafe e-collar, barrier, and pet fence products?

PetSafe e-collar, barrier, and pet fence products are electronic training and containment systems made by Radio Systems Corporation to help manage pet behavior and movement. E-collars use sound, vibration, or mild static signals to correct barking or reinforce commands, barriers create invisible zones to keep pets away from restricted areas, and pet fences use in-ground wires or wireless signals to safely contain pets within a set boundary.

Who Is Included?

You may be in the settlement class if you lived in California when you purchased any covered PetSafe product listed below during the class period of October 1, 2018 to October 31, 2022.

Who is PetSafe and Radio Systems?

PetSafe is a popular pet product brand owned by Radio Systems Corporation, a Tennessee-based company that designs and manufactures pet training, safety, and containment products. Founded in 1991, Radio Systems is one of the largest pet product manufacturers in the United States, producing well-known brands such as PetSafe, Invisible Fence, SportDOG, and Kurgo.

PetSafe's products include electronic collars (e-collars), wireless and in-ground pet fences, bark control devices, automatic feeders, and other pet safety accessories. The brand markets its products as tools to help pet owners train, contain, and care for their pets.

In this case, Radio Systems Corporation—the parent company of PetSafe—is the defendant in the California class action lawsuit that led to the $1.9 million settlement over certain PetSafe e-collar, barrier, and fence products.
