What Changed Recently?
ConnectAmerica.com, LLC agreed to settle Felix v. ConnectAmerica.com, LLC, Case No. GD-26-007931, a class action in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The court granted preliminary approval and appointed Kroll Settlement Administration as the administrator, which sends notice by email, or by postcard where no email address is known, to people identified in the calling records.
The lawsuit alleged that ConnectAmerica violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by placing calls to cell phones using an artificial or prerecorded voice without prior consent. ConnectAmerica denies the allegations and any liability, and the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing. The court has not decided who is right.
The case began on April 1, 2025 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. After a mediation on June 30, 2026, the parties reached an agreement, and the plaintiff refiled the case in the Allegheny County court on August 7, 2026 to carry out the settlement there.
Who Qualifies?
The settlement class covers individuals in the United States who did not provide their telephone number to ConnectAmerica, and to whom ConnectAmerica delivered, or caused to be delivered, at least one prerecorded message on their cell phone between April 1, 2021 and September 22, 2026. The settlement says there are about 14,534 class members.
The class is built from calling records obtained in the case. People whose numbers appear in those records were sent a postcard or email notice. The notice says someone who did not receive one may still be in the class if their cell number appears in the records, and the administrator can check a number.
The class excludes ConnectAmerica, anyone who opts out, and the judges assigned to the case and their staff and families.
How Much Can You Get?
The notice estimates the payment at $275 per person, reduced by each claimant’s proportionate share of attorneys’ fees, costs, expenses and administration. That is an estimate, not a guaranteed amount. The $275 figure matches the $4,000,000 settlement cap divided among the roughly 14,534 class members.
ConnectAmerica’s total obligation, including payments, fees, costs, the service award and administration, cannot exceed $4,000,000. If approved claims would add up to more than the cap, every payment is reduced pro rata. Class counsel will ask the court for attorneys’ fees of up to $1,333,333.33 and costs of up to $30,000, plus a service award of up to $10,000 for the class representative; administration costs are capped at $75,000. The court decides the final amounts.
The fund is reversionary. Money left after approved claims and the other court-approved payments goes back to ConnectAmerica, so a low claim rate does not increase individual payments. Each class member may file one claim.
The settlement also includes a change in practice. Within 30 days of final approval, ConnectAmerica will stop using prerecorded messages to contact non-customers and will use the Reassigned Numbers Database, at its own cost.
What Proof or Notice ID Is Required?
The online claim form opens with a login that asks for the Class Member ID printed at the top of the email or postcard notice. The paper claim form asks for the same ID.
No phone bills or call logs are required to file. The claim form asks for the claimant’s name, address, email address and telephone number, and a certification under penalty of perjury that the claimant owned or was the subscriber for the telephone number during the class period, did not give the number to ConnectAmerica or authorize anyone to, and has not already filed a claim for that number. The administrator may ask for reasonable documentation to verify a claim.
What Is the Deadline?
The claim deadline is December 21, 2026. Online claims must be submitted by that date, and paper claim forms must be postmarked by December 21, 2026. The settlement documents do not state a time of day or time zone for online filing.
Opt-out requests must be mailed and postmarked by December 21, 2026. Opting out means receiving no payment but keeping the right to bring a separate case against ConnectAmerica over these calls. Objections are also due December 21, 2026, filed with the court.
How Do You Take Action?
Claims are filed through the official settlement website, ConnectAmericaTCPASettlement.com, run by Kroll Settlement Administration. Its Submit Claim button opens the online form, which asks for the Class Member ID, contact information, a payment choice and the signed certification. Choosing an electronic payment is available only through the online form.
The site’s Documents page has the notice, the claim form, the settlement agreement, the preliminary approval order and the complaint. Questions go to the administrator through the site’s Contact Us page.
What Happens Next?
The final approval hearing is scheduled for January 19, 2027 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh. The notice says it may also be held virtually and that the date can change, with updates posted on the settlement website. The court will decide whether to approve the settlement and rule on the fee, cost and service award requests.
Payments come only after final approval and after the settlement becomes final. The agreement calls for the administrator to review all claims, give the parties a final accounting, and then receive the funds from ConnectAmerica before sending payments; it also bars paying attorneys’ fees or the service award before May 15, 2027. Checks expire if not cashed within 90 days. If the court does not approve the settlement, no payments are made.

Questions
Where does the $275 estimate in the ConnectAmerica settlement come from?
The notice estimates $275 per person, reduced by each claimant’s proportionate share of fees, costs, expenses and administration. That figure matches the $4,000,000 settlement cap divided among the roughly 14,534 class members. The final amount is not set until after final approval and the claims review.
What happens to ConnectAmerica settlement money that nobody claims?
It goes back to ConnectAmerica. The settlement agreement describes the fund as reversionary: after approved claims, attorneys’ fees, costs, the service award and administration are paid, any remaining money reverts to the company. Payments are reduced pro rata only if approved claims would exceed the $4,000,000 cap.
Can someone without a postcard or email notice be in the ConnectAmerica settlement?
Possibly. The notice says a person may still be a class member if their cell phone number appears in the calling records obtained in the case, even without a postcard. The administrator can check a number against those records; the settlement website’s Contact Us page is the way to reach it.
Will ConnectAmerica change how it makes calls?
Under the settlement agreement, within 30 days of final approval ConnectAmerica will stop using prerecorded messages to contact non-customers and will use the Reassigned Numbers Database. The company pays for those changes separately from the settlement benefits.
How are ConnectAmerica settlement payments sent?
Payments are made by check or, for claims filed online, by electronic payment. Checks expire if not cashed within 90 days. Payments are made only after the court grants final approval, the settlement becomes final and the administrator finishes reviewing claims; no payment date had been announced as of October 26, 2026.
