Dollar Tree Recalls 360,500 Electric Balloon Pumps That Can Overheat; Full Refund at Any Store

People who bought a pink Dollar Tree electric balloon pump, model 406198, between August 2025 and July 2026 can get a full refund. Dollar Tree says to stop using the pump and return it to any Dollar Tree store; online buyers can request a prepaid return label.

What Is Being Recalled?

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. recalled about 360,500 electric balloon pumps on October 1, 2026, because they can overheat and pose a burn hazard. The recall was announced with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission as recall number 27-012.

The pumps were sold at Dollar Tree stores nationwide, on dollartree.com and through DoorDash from August 2025 through July 2026 for about $17. The recalled pump is a high-pressure electric balloon pump made of pink plastic with a blue handle and two nozzles. It has two operating modes, continuous and touch-on. Model number 406198 is printed on the silver rating label on the bottom of the pump and on the packaging.

What Went Wrong

According to the CPSC notice, Dollar Tree received three reports of the pump overheating. One report described flames inside the unit, and another described the unit exploding. No injuries have been reported. The pumps were made in China.
