What is the JustPlay BIPA Class Action Settlement About?
You may be part of a new $4,500,000 class action settlement after allegations were raised that JustPlay collected, stored, and used biometric information in an improper way through the JustPlay mobile app.The class action lawsuit alleges the conduct violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, also known as BIPA.
JustPlay denies wrongdoing. The Court has not ruled on the merits. The settlement is proposed and still requires final Court approval.

JustPlay is a popular mobile app operated by JustPlay GMBH (doing business as JustPlay) and Gimica GMBH (doing business as GIMICA Games). The lawsuit focuses on alleged biometric information practices connected to use of the app.What is the Total Settlement Amount?
The total settlement amount is $4,500,000. This is the maximum amount Defendants will pay under the settlement.How Do I Qualify For a Payout?
You may qualify if you are a living Illinois citizen and your biometric information was collected, captured, possessed, used, transmitted, disseminated, stored, or otherwise obtained by JustPlay through the JustPlay application without prior written consent.JustPlay’s records may indicate you are a Settlement Class Member, and notice recipients are typically considered eligible to submit a claim.
How Much Can I Get Paid?
Approved Settlement Class Members may claim a one time $15.00 cash payment.No proof or explanation is required to claim the $15 payment.
Important: If the total dollar amount of all valid claims, settlement administration costs, Court approved attorneys’ fees and costs, and any service award is greater than the settlement amount, the $15 payment may be reduced on a pro rata basis.

The fastest way to submit your claim is online through the official settlement website.You can also download a claim form and mail it to the Settlement Administrator. Mailed claims must be postmarked by the deadline.
