Claims are open. Consumers can file at AG Generic Drugs through March 8, 2027. In September 2026 the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut preliminarily approved the attorneys general's plan to distribute the money, and the coalition announced the claim period. A final approval date for the distribution plan and a payment date had not been announced as of October 1, 2026.
This page covers the state attorneys general program only. The generic drug end-payer class action, which includes the Sandoz/Fougera, Sun/Taro and Apotex/Heritage settlements, is a separate claim with an earlier deadline of November 9, 2026; it is explained on its own page, the generic drug end-payer settlements.

In September 2026 a bipartisan coalition of 48 attorneys general, led by Connecticut, announced that the federal court in Connecticut had preliminarily approved their plan to distribute settlement money to consumers, and opened the claim period. Attorneys general in New York, California, Washington, New Jersey and other states issued notices urging residents to file.
The money comes from settlements the states reached with five manufacturers accused of conspiring to raise generic drug prices. The companies did not admit liability.
| Company |
Amount |
| Apotex | $39,100,000 |
| Glenmark | $29,600,000 |
| Lannett | $13,770,000 |
| Heritage and its parent Emcure | $10,000,000 |
| Bausch | $4,080,000 |
No. There are two consumer programs, and they are easy to confuse:
|
State AG program (this page) |
End-payer class action |
| Deadline | March 8, 2027 | November 9, 2026 |
| Money | About $96.5M from Apotex, Heritage, Lannett, Bausch, Glenmark | $533M from Sandoz/Fougera, Sun/Taro, Apotex/Heritage |
| Who brings it | 48 state attorneys general (D. Conn.) | Class counsel in a federal MDL (E.D. Pa.) |
| Where to file | AG Generic Drugs | End-payer settlement page |
A consumer who qualifies for both can file in both, but each needs its own claim. Because the end-payer deadline comes first, file that one first.
The Sandoz money is not in this program. The $275 million Sandoz/Fougera class settlement is claimed through the end-payer program, and the $400 million settlement in principle the states announced with Sandoz in August 2026 is not part of this distribution.
Consumers who purchased one or more of the covered generic drugs in the United States between May 2009 and December 2019 may be eligible. The program's website lists the covered drugs and the eligibility rules; OCA also keeps a covered generic drugs list. This program is for individual consumers. Health insurers and employer plans that reimbursed drug costs are covered by the end-payer class action instead.
No per-person amount has been announced. Consumer payments come from a fixed pool and are divided pro rata among valid claims, and the attorneys general have said each person's share depends on factors including how much they spent on the covered drugs. The final amount depends on how many valid claims are filed.
The claim asks which covered drugs you bought and about your purchases during May 2009 through December 2019. Check the claim form on the program's website for exactly which records it accepts, and gather pharmacy records, prescription receipts or account statements before you start; most pharmacies can print a prescription history covering past years. Claims can be reviewed and rejected for inadequate support.
Submit your claim by March 8, 2027. If you also qualify for the end-payer class action, its deadline is November 9, 2026.
File at AGGenericDrugs.com, where the claim form, drug list and instructions are posted. You do not need to pay anyone to file.
Claims stay open until March 8, 2027. The court preliminarily approved the distribution plan in September 2026; payments follow the court's final approval of the plan and the review of claims, and no date for either had been announced as of October 1, 2026. The states' litigation against other generic drug makers continues, including the separate $400 million settlement in principle with Sandoz announced in August 2026, which is not yet final.
Is the AG generic drug settlement the same as the end-payer settlement?
No. The state attorneys general program at AGGenericDrugs.com is a government enforcement action with its own money, website, claim form and March 8, 2027 deadline. The end-payer class action, funded by Sandoz/Fougera, Sun/Taro and Apotex/Heritage, is a separate claim with a November 9, 2026 deadline. Filing in one does not file you in the other.
Does the AG generic drug program include the Sandoz settlement?
No. The current distribution covers about $96.5 million from Apotex, Heritage and its parent Emcure, Lannett, Bausch and Glenmark. The $400 million settlement in principle the states announced with Sandoz in August 2026 is not part of it, and the $275 million Sandoz/Fougera class settlement is claimed through the end-payer program instead.
How much will I get from the AG generic drug program?
No per-person amount has been announced. Consumer payments come from a fixed pool and are shared pro rata among valid claims, and the attorneys general have said the amount depends on how much a consumer spent on the covered drugs.
Can I file in both generic drug programs?
Yes, if you qualify for both. A consumer who paid for covered generic drugs between May 2009 and December 2019 can file an end-payer claim by November 9, 2026 and a separate state attorneys general claim by March 8, 2027. Each needs its own claim on its own website.
